Joost van de Brake

Research and teaching on modern teamwork.

I study how people work together within and across teams, and translate that work into education, executive teaching, and partnerships with organisations. Particular focus on multiple team membership, hybrid work, and the stress and strain of modern team arrangements.

Working with organisations

Partnerships and applied projects, grounded in research and based on years of work with organisations.

Diagnose what is going on

I run rigorous employee surveys and big-data analyses to identify the root causes of engagement, burnout, turnover, and team performance issues. Findings are translated into a clear narrative for HR, project controllers, and top management.

Design and evaluate interventions

I help organisations design experiments, pilots, and longitudinal studies that test whether new ways of working actually move the needle, before they are rolled out at scale.

Train and coach leaders

I translate research findings into actionable workshops for team leaders, department heads, and HR professionals. The sessions are practical, grounded in evidence, and tailored to the work people actually do.
